Why Consumers Get Duped on Finances

Posted on March 9, 2015 by bobrichards

Two fast lessons about the information you hear on retirement

  1. The people who write in the newspaper and magazines and appear on TV are journalists. They don't know anything about finances. So where do they get their information on investing and retirement planning? From people on Wall Street. And the people on Wall Street are most interested in separating you from your money so they feed the journalists the information that the Wall Streeters want you to hear.
  2. The idea that a certain group cannot be trusted based on opinion is foolish. So in an upcoming post, I will provide proof that Wall Street firms and large insurance companies cannot be trusted. I will detail all of the fines that large Wall Street firms and large insurance companies have paid for illegal and unethical behavior. You can get a small taste here: Investor Fraud and FINRA Fines and here: It's YOUR Fault You Get Ripped Off By Securities Firms
